WOW!! It seems like we just finished a season and here we are once
again with the 2007-2008 hockey season right on our heels. As
always, welcome back to our returning players and our new player’s
for this season. Below are a few of our upcoming events and some
important information regarding this years season. Please take a
moment to review them. |

|
HOCKEY REGISTRATION
|
|
Mark your calendars!!! Registration
for the 2007-2008 season will be held on Sunday, September 9th
and again on Wednesday, September 12th at
Central High School.
This is also a great opportunity to purchase those Ribfest tickets,
if you have not done so already. As well as check out all of the
different booths set up.
Please note, due to issues in the past with unpaid balances for ice
assessments, which results in a negative effect on the association
and our players, we have put the following policy in effect for this
year’s hockey season: |
| |
|
ANY PLAYERS WITH OUTSTANDING ICE ASSESSMENT BALANCES FROM LAST
SEASON and/or JERSEY(S) THAT WERE NOT RETURNED WILL NOT BE ALLOWED
TO REGISTER UNTIL THE PAST DUE AMOUNT IS PAID in full and/or
JERSEY(s) RETURNED. |

Blackwoods/DAHA
Ribfest 2007 |
|
Hey, why don’t you come and bring the family on down to Bayfront for
Ribfest. The great evening of fun is happening on September 15th,
2007, from 4 to 10 pm. Tickets are $15.00 in advance & $20.00 the
day of the event. Tickets will be available the week of July 22nd
through the day of the event. This is a great home-cooked meal and
a great way to enjoy an evening out. There will be 3 bands for your
entertainment as well as beverages available. We are fortunate to
have DAHA as a sponsor, as well as Blackwoods for this fundraiser.
This is an excellent opportunity for our community to support Lakers
Hockey. Remember to mark your calendar; you don’t want to miss
this!!!
We,
however, are looking for volunteers to work this event. We are
encouraging the Laker players to wear their jerseys and come down
and join in the festivities and lend a friendly hand. Remember, all
of our hard work and effort will in turn help our players and
association. Please take some time out and be one of the 15 or so
needed volunteers. The shifts are:
4 to 7pm & 7 to 10 pm,
Please note the potential of this fundraiser. This is a wonderful
thing for the Lakers hockey to raise some more needed funds to keep
this association successful. For a $15.00 ticket the break is such:
$5.00 goes towards cost, $6.00 goes to the Association, and $4.00
goes to DAHA. As you see, we a chance to make a good profit on this
fundraiser, we just need everyones help to make it successful. |

ZERO
TOLERANCE POLICY |
|
We have a Zero Tolerance policy that every parent and player signs
at registration each season. This policy is in place to remind all
of us that any abusive, derogatory and inappropriate gestures and
comments, etc, that is upsetting to other fans, coaches, referees,
players, etc. is not to be tolerated and can lead to circumstances.
The policy is not in place to say have no fun at all, but to do in a
manner that is not negatively affecting anyone else around you. As
parents, we need to be leaders and set a good example for our
players and our fans. With that being said, starting in the
2007-2008 season, DAHA and Lakers Hockey will be enforcing the Zero
Tolerance Policy for the safety and well-being of all. Remember to
set a good example for our youth, as they are our future |
